ABSTRACT

People's perspectives and behaviors altered in a variety of ways during the pandemic period, most notably in areas related to health, environment, and most notably waste management. Many people still prefer to work from home and this in turn leads to a large accumulation of garbage without having any proper means of disposal. As a result, the garbage area will serve as a breeding ground for illness. Garbage is usually composed of a residual waste generated from a product or object that has outlived its useful life, but can still be recycled into a valuable item. On this basis, the solution is to use a waste bank;it is a collection point for sorted garbage. It is claimed that using a waste bank can help in preventing the garbage accumulation. The main purpose of this study is to determine the contribution of the waste bank to end garbage accumulation. The information gathered through a review of the literature and direct interviews with multiple informants. According to the findings of the literature review, waste banks can provide a variety of benefits to users, as well as the community and surrounding environment. The proposed research study's findings show that the changes in community activity patterns contribute to an increase in garbage, and that the community plays an important role in waste control. From the performed research study, it is evident that m any individuals are interested about garbage banks and their benefits based on this presumption. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

ABSTRACT

Social media is widely considered to be a breeding ground for misinformation and disinformation. The current paper looks at some of the most important Romanian influences on Facebook to analyze their networks - how many followers engage with the content they are posting how active their followers are, and to what extent are followers shared among different influences. To perform the analysis, 360 posts have been downloaded, together with comments and shares;there have been 126,784 comments and shares in the final analysis from 75,519 distinct followers. Results show that overlap of followers is not significant, with only a few clusters (i.e., influences sharing many of theirfollowers) being visible. Graphical visualization of some networks and clusters are also provided, using the Gephi specialized software.

ABSTRACT

Since the first virus was identified in the early last century, many kinds of different viruses have been discovered until now that can harm a human being. One of these is severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) or well known as coronavirus, which has pushed the entire world into a deadly pandemic. The pandemic has been affecting public health, employment, lifestyle, and the entire food system. To protect our house, workplace, and heavily populated areas such as markets and hospitals from being infected by the virus, it needs to be stopped in every possible way to be spread. Footwear is one of the potential sources of contamination and possible carrier of the virus, especially if it touches an infected place or someone who has already infected sneezes or coughs nearby. Since most footwear is made of leather, rubber, and plastic, the virus can live on these for many days at room temperature. Even footwear can be a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses as it comes in contact with dirt and germs more than anything else. In this paper, a smart device for disinfecting footwear has been proposed for crowded premises. The sensing device will automatically sense the visitor’s presence at the entrance and will disinfect his footwear by spraying disinfecting agent underneath the footwear or foot. This disinfecting station will allow visitors to disinfect their footwear without stopping and will ensure effecting sanitization of the entire sole even if the sole has deep flex grooves or high heels. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
